‘Papier incomestible' (2020) ate a part of 'Papier comestible' (2018), this edible book of loose pages which performs in 'Papier multiforme, Papier comestible'. 'Papier incomestible is a book that digests another book. It truns into something new, a new performative document. One that does not perform in the theatre but more probably in a house, on a sofa, on a trainm in a park, on a shelf, in a box, under a pile of forgotten boos. At the difference from 'Papier comestible', 'Papier incomestible' does not perform within a collective of readers; it is not a solitude shared within a collective of readers: it is not a solitude shared within a collective, it is a solitude in solitude, une solitude au carre (a squared solitude).
This is book number one of De Nieuwe Dansbibliotheek (The New Dance Library). DNDB publishes notations, secondary texts and translations in handy booklets, in order to provide an insight into the practice of dance and choreography in The Netherlands and Flanders.
De Nieuwe Dansbibliotheek is a sister publication of De Nieuwe Toneelbibliotheek. De Nieuwe Toneelbibliotheek has the mission to make contemporary theatre repertoire better available for The Netherlands and Flanders. DNTB does this through print on demand publishing of theatre texts in small booklets and offering a digital library. With this, Dutch and Flemish teather writing - thee writer, the oeuvre and the discourse - is brought to the attention of the right audience: writers, students, makers, readers, and spectators.
DNDB will gladly follow its ten years oldder sister in her footsteps, while developing a specific practice of publishing texts and other things on paper for dance and choreography.
