la table du zine
the gleaners and the worms

Regenerative agriculture and dance meet on ‘la table du zine’, through books, and other objects of paper. Participants read, ingest, nibble books of permaculture and dance. With the help of a duplicator, glue, scissors, and pens, they assemble the page of a zine. This practice was initiated in July 2021 and will be reiterated through 2022. The first occurence of 'la table du zine' resulted in the collection of forty graphic pages.

Participants of ‘the Gleaners and the Worms’ cultivate the haptic quality of their gaze to wander in the landscapes of these graphic pages: to shrink and immerse themselves in one page, to climb the stem of a plant, weave their way through tall grass, fly away with a stream of air, to become fireflies within an intermingling of voices, echoes, songs, gestures, and lights.

The work engages with, among other references, the film of Agnes Varda 'Les glaneurs et la glaneuse', 'Beau Geste Press' (independent publishing house founded in 1971 by artists Martha Hellion and Felipe Ehrenberg ‘for a community of duplicators, printers, and craftsmen’), and Charles Darwin's book 'The Formation of Vegetable Mould Through the Action of Worms'.
